Two Model Years, Two Trim Ladders

As of late September 2026, Cadillac's website carries two Escalade model years at once, with a 2027/2026 toggle at the top of each page. The 2026 Escalade now sits in the preceding-year section of the site; the 2027 car occupies the main Escalade page. The two years differ in how the range is structured. For 2026 Cadillac lists six trims, and its own question-and-answer block names them: Escalade 1SA as the base car, then Luxury, Sport, Platinum Luxury, Platinum Sport and V-Series. For 2027 that base trim disappears from the lineup and only five remain, with Luxury as the entry point. The 2027 Luxury also picks up Cabin Glance and a Surround Vision Recorder among its standard features. Cadillac also sells the Escalade IQ and Escalade IQL as separate all-electric models for 2026; they are not trims of the gasoline Escalade.

Two Bodies: Escalade and Escalade ESV

Escalade comes in two body lengths, and the gap between them is larger than the badge suggests. On the 2026 specifications page the standard Escalade measures 211.9 inches long on a 121-inch wheelbase; the ESV stretches to 226.9 inches on a 134-inch wheelbase. Both are 93.7 inches wide with the mirrors extended and 81.08 inches with them folded. Cadillac lists the 2026 Escalade at seven seats and the ESV at eight. Cargo volume separates them further: 120.5 cubic feet behind the first row in the standard car against 142.2 in the ESV, and 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row against 41.5. Third-row legroom grows from 34.9 to 36.7 inches. Maximum towing runs the other way, 8,100 pounds for the Escalade and 8,000 for the ESV. One caution there: Cadillac's 2026 overview page lists ESV towing as 7,000 pounds, but the detailed specification pages for both model years give 8,000, which is what this page uses.

Inside the Cabin: Leather, Massage and the Executive Second Row

The cabin is where the trim ladder does most of its work. On 2026 Luxury and Sport, front and second-row seats wear leather with precision perforated inserts or faceted quilting, and the front pair are twelve-way power units, heated and ventilated, with power lumbar. Step to Platinum Luxury or Platinum Sport and the front seats become full semi-aniline leather with perforated inserts or Mondrian quilting, sixteen-way adjustable, with four-way lumbar and a massage function. Cadillac describes Platinum Luxury as adding upgraded materials and enhanced sound insulation for a near-silent cabin. The optional Executive Second Row is the genuine luxury item: 41.5 inches of legroom, 64.1 inches of shoulder room, 61.1 inches of hip room, fourteen-way adjustable seats and a ten-point massage system. A dual-pane power SkyGlass roof with a power shade is standard from Luxury upward.

The 55-Inch Horizon Display, Section by Section

The headline screen needs one clarification: 55 inches is the total diagonal measured across the whole curved LED panel that spans the dashboard, not the size of a single touchscreen. Cadillac calls it the Horizon Display and divides it into four zones. Directly behind the steering wheel sits the Driver Information Center, carrying speed and driving alerts. Just to its right, a selectable area shows items such as time, temperature and tire pressure, configured through the Vehicle Status app. The center portion runs Google built-in, with Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, and responds to touch only when the vehicle is in Park, otherwise to voice or the rotary controller on the console. The fourth zone belongs to the front passenger.

Audio, Rear Screens and Connectivity

That fourth zone, Front Seat Media, is a separate entertainment surface in front of the passenger: tap-and-swipe streaming apps, an HDMI input for outside devices, and digital blinds that keep the image from reaching the driver's eyeline while the vehicle is moving. Behind it, Platinum Luxury and Platinum Sport add a rear-seat entertainment system with two independent 12.6-inch displays. Sound scales the same way. A 21-speaker AKG Studio system is standard on the 2026 Escalade, Luxury and Sport; Platinum trims move to a 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference Surround setup, with Dolby Atmos available. For 2027 Cadillac quotes 42 speakers, a figure it ties to the available Executive Second Row. Google built-in and 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability are part of the same package.

Under the Skin: V8, Ride Control and Super Cruise

Every non-V Escalade and ESV for 2026 and 2027 uses the same 6.2-liter V8: 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet on premium fuel, with Dynamic Fuel Management and a ten-speed automatic. Base cars offer rear- or four-wheel drive through a two-speed transfer case. The V-Series swaps in a supercharged 6.2, which Cadillac rates at 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet, driving all four wheels through a single-speed case. Earlier Escalades offered a diesel; the EPA's 2026 Cadillac listing covers 38 vehicles and includes no diesel Escalade. Those rate 17 miles per gallon combined in two-wheel drive, 16 in four-wheel drive and 13 for the V. What the Escalade Actually Offers

Read against the photographs that usually introduce it, the Escalade's substance sits in three places: a cabin whose top trims genuinely change material and adjustment rather than adding badges, a dashboard panel that is four coordinated displays rather than one enormous screen, and a mechanical package that has narrowed to a single gasoline V8 in two states of tune. The model-year distinction matters when comparing figures, since Cadillac now publishes 2026 and 2027 pages side by side and the trim ladders are not identical.
